PVA Glue Experiments
These are my pva glue experiments I have created responding with primary photographs. With these experiments I would pour some pva glue onto acetate, add my primary photograph and then add different materials and ink to 'hide' the photograph and create the desolated, forgotten effect.
Some of these experiments I used too much ink or too many materials and so the primary photograph became really distort and you cant see the photograph at all. However, in another experiment I didn't use enough materials or ink and so the experiment doesn't look forgotten at all and so it was very unsuccessful.
However, I still thought I could improve the experiments which were successful so I scanned them into Photoshop, placed the original photograph, that I used in the experiment, behind the scanned experiment and then changed the experiments' layer to 'overlay' or 'multiply' so you would still be able to see the experiment and the photograph but not the whole of it, only sections to enhance the 'distort', 'desolated' theme: forgotten.
My Photoshop Experiments
I particularly prefer the first photoshop manipulation to the other because it is a lot more interesting to look at and observe rather than the second. I think this is because the first manipulation has a lot of different colours and you can clearly see all the different textures and materials whereas in the second manipulation the photo itself isn't as interesting as well as not having as many different colours, textures and medias.
