Primary Photographs

These are my first set primary photographs I have taken of things that seem or have been forgotten about. The cobs webs, rust, decayed bricks and dead flowers suggest  'forgotten' as they show that they have been left for a long while to get into that state.

Statement of Intent

The title for my final major project is "Forgotten" so I will be working towards photographing landscapes, objects and people which have been forgotten or perhaps in the process of being forgotten. I will also experiment with these photographs with mix media techniques and my proposed end point will be a mix media photograph.

My starting points with this project are to research photographers and artists who might explore something similar to "forgotten." I will research these using the Internet and going to the local library to see if there are any photographers or artists in books.

This is a timetable or a plan of what I will do in the following weeks for my final major project:
From week one to week three I will be doing artist and photographers research, taking primary photographs with digital and traditional cameras, drawing with techniques such as charcoal, pencil and pen and ink. I will also create a mood board of secondary photos and a spider diagram exploring the theme 'forgotten'.
From week two to week five I will be experimenting with different medias and techniques such as: image transfer, painting, experimenting with studio lighting, photoshop, darkroom experiments. Layered experiments onto acetate with pva glue, wax, torn photographs, thread, mesh, ink etc.. Lino printing, stitching into photographs and many more techniques.
On week six I will be selecting and developing the most effect experiments from week two to week five and refine these experiments, focusing on composition and scale. I will also create at least three alternative final ideas for my final piece.
From week seven to week nine I will create and display my final outcome and evaluate my whole project as well as my final outcome.

When reviewing and analysing my work, I will determine what was successful about my project but also the areas for improvement. I could receive critical feedback from my peers by giving them my blog address, doing a survey and presenting a presentation to my peers. Also, annotating my sketchbook throughout will help me review that particular experiment. My key question when evaluating, however, will be "Have I achieved my intentions?"
